RELEASE BLITZ: Dirty by Belle Aurora (Review)

Title: Dirty
Series: RAW Family #2
Author: Belle Aurora
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Release Date: October 31, 2016

Blurb

My marriage seemed perfect from the outside looking in.

People envied me. They wanted my life, wanted to be me.

Mrs Alejandra Gambino.
Wife of Dino Gambino. Daughter of Eduardo Castillo.

Respected. Loved. Mob royalty.

They had no idea of the horrors that lurked behind closed doors.

They didn't know I was at the lowest point a person could reach.

Enter Julius Carter.

Aloof, handsome, blue-eyed Julius Carter.

He saved me.

I screwed him over.

Now everybody was after me. My life was forfeit.

It was only a matter of time. I was a dead woman walking.

The question was, who would get to me first?

Review

When I signed up to have a chance to review this book I was curious to see what the storyline would be? If you follow the author on Goodreads then you got a sneak peek that alone had me floored and eagerly waiting for DIRTY to come out. Imagine my surprise when I checked my kindle Friday morning to see Dirty had popped up. I said to my self well time to clear the day I’m going to be busy.

Alejandra is a mob princess who has been sheeted her whole life along with her other siblings. I went in with a mind frame of “oh this will be one of those damsel in destress types of books where the hero comes to save the day.” I couldn’t have been be more wrong.

Julius, if you read RAW then you know he was Twitch’s best friend, brother, and AJ’s godfather. I thought this was going to be straight forward type of story but boy was I wrong. Warning to those who have certain triggers there are some scenes that can be disturbing to others. You have been warned. With saying that the story is twisted and dark throughout the whole book. I can’t saying anything else without giving out the story but be prepared to have you mind blown. Be in store for some interesting surprises.

EXCERPT:
TRUMAN GRITT LOCKED the door to Whiskey Automotive and stepped into the stormy September night. Sheets of rain blurred his vision, instantly drenching his jeans and T-shirt. A slow smile crept across his face as he tipped his chin up, soaking in the shower of freedom. He made his way around the dark building and climbed the wooden stairs to the deck outside his apartment. He could have used the interior door, but after being behind bars for six long years, Truman took advantage of the small pleasures he’d missed out on, like determining his own schedule, deciding when to eat and drink, and standing in the f**king rain if he wanted to. He leaned on the rough wooden railing, ignoring the splinters of wood piercing his tattooed forearms, squinted against the wetness, and scanned the cars in the junkyard they used for parts—and he used to rid himself of frustrations. He rested his leather boot on the metal box where he kept his painting supplies. Truman didn’t have much—his old extended-cab truck, which his friend Bear Whiskey had held on to for him while he was in prison, this apartment, and a solid job, both of which were compliments of the Whiskey family. The only family he had anymore.
Emotions he didn’t want to deal with burned in his gut, causing his chest to constrict. He turned to go inside, hoping to outrun thoughts of his own f**ked-up family, whom he’d tried—and failed—to save. His cell phone rang with his brother’s ringtone, “A Beautiful Lie” by 30 Seconds to Mars.
“F**k,” he muttered, debating letting the call go to voicemail, but six months of silence from his brother was a long time. Rain pelleted his back as he pressed his palm to the door to steady himself. The ringing stopped, and he blew out a breath he hadn’t realized he’d trapped inside. The phone rang again, and he froze.
He’d just freed himself from the dredges of hell that he’d been thrown into in an effort to save his brother. He didn’t need to get wrapped up in whatever mess the drug- addicted fool had gotten himself into. The call went to voicemail, and Truman eyed the metal box containing his painting supplies. Breathing like he’d been in a fight, he wished he could paint the frustration out of his head. When the phone rang for the third time in as many minutes, the third time since he was released from prison six months ago, he reluctantly answered.
“Quincy.” He hated the way his brother’s name came out sounding like the enemy. Quincy had been just a kid when Truman went to prison. Heavy breathing filled the airwaves. The hairs on Truman’s forearms and neck stood on end. He knew fear when he heard it. He could practically taste it as he ground his teeth together.
“I need you,” his brother’s tortured voice implored.
Need me? Truman had hunted down his brother after he was released from prison, and when he’d finally found him, Quincy was so high on crack he was nearly incoherent—but it didn’t take much for f**k off to come through loud and clear. What Quincy needed was rehab, but Truman knew from his tone that wasn’t the point of the call.
Before he could respond, his brother croaked out, “It’s Mom. She’s really bad.”

Review

This has been by far one of the best books I've read this year. This has my rating on ten twinkle stars. As you all know I'm a book blogger I read plenty but, this was something else. I have two more books to get through I don't know how I'm going to let go of this one. It's one of those books that will stay with you and you'll want to re-read it over and over again.

Emerson had the perfect like in Sydney. She has it all the perfect boyfriend, job and overall perfect life. She always felt that this the life she had in Sydney was it for her. She wanted more she was over the perfect life she wanted extraordinary. When you begin the story we see that she decided to uproot her whole life and moves to London.

Alastar is a god and talented god at that. He is a famous photographer and tables a bit into painting every now and then. The way they meet made me think he was a total douche. At the end of the story it made me cry for him. Tee this is by far the best male character that you've written about. I can't believe I'm saying this that he beats Joshua Stanton I still love that sex god but it pales in comparison.

When I was reading this book by the half mark I started tearing up. This book has played will all of my emotions. It was mind blowing yet earth shattering it had me thinking the impossible could be possible. At the end I just wanted to just chuck my kindle I couldn't deal with that ending I wanted so much more. The author did a great job with this book it had it all. The storyline was far what I imagine it was going to be it's so complex within itself. The characters are entwine with another beautifully. I can truly say that these character will stay with me in the best of ways.

Sneak peek:
Flashes of the silver car I’d been in a million times flewby in my mind, spliced in with another image—of the body I’d just seen at the bottomof the ravine. I kept seeing it over and over like a trailer for the latest horror movie. Butit wasn’t some actress in a film. It was my best friend’s lifeless body at the bottom ofthat rocky cliff. The stark image taunted me: large, jagged boulders breaking out from acoating of pure white snow forever marked with her blood—her body, splayed acrossthem, crooked and broken.

Book Blitz: The Decision by L.K. Kuhl

The Decision
L.K. Kuhl
(Everlasting Trilogy, #2)
Publication date: October 20th 2016
Genres: Paranormal Romance, Young Adult
The guests are invited. The cake is all set. In just a few short hours Sophia Bandell will be saying “I do” to a guy she isn’t sure she loves. But where does she go from here? She feels her life is headed in a downhill spiral. Her first and real true love, Tate Forester, is a ghost. But he’s the man she wants to be with…the one she can’t live without. Sophia is faced with the toughest decision of her life. Does she forget about Tate and marry the egotistical lawyer, Aaron Stuart? Or does she take the plunge and join Tate to be with him for eternity?
EXCERPT:
I turned again and caught a glimpse of Aaron coming into the backyard, dressed to the nines in a black tuxedo, his arms splayed wide. He advanced toward my sister-in-law Kristy, who had just come out the backdoor, his voice tight and full of despair. “No sign of her. I’ve looked everywhere. I don’t know what to do next.” His arms flopped down to his sides, and he slumped into a lawn chair on the deck. “This is so unlike Sophia to do something like this.”
Just then, all of my bridesmaids, my best friends—Claudia Bunker, Jenny Staid, and Laura Anderson—came out of the house to join them on the deck. All three of them, along with Kristy, were dressed in their lacy purple bridesmaid dresses, long diamond earrings, and flattering braided up-dos.
“Sophia, you’d better go break the news to them now. Don’t put them through this any longer.” Tate gave me a gentle nudge, urging me to put an end to this.
My chin trembling, I answered him with a small nod. I couldn’t speak, couldn’t answer, my mind tossing a stormy chaos of what to do next. Did I go break the news to everyone that the wedding is called off? Everyone go home. It’s over. There will be no Mrs. Aaron Stuart today. My eyes slanted back to the yard again. This time Aaron sobbed into his hands. I blinked, then blinked again, my vision blurry.
My chest ached, and I shivered as though the wind had shifted, wind that carried in cooler air— air consumed with an acidic premonition and a feverish guilt. My hands fell limp and I sagged against the tree, sliding down the length of the trunk to deposit my butt on the ground, too weak to stand.
I rubbed my face, trying to come up with the right words, words that wouldn’t disintegrate me— kill us. There were none. This was going to be the hardest thing I’d ever done in my life, but I’d been weighing the consequences since early this morning. Ever since Tate told me there was no possible way there could ever be a future for us, not in this life anyway. Carrying out this agonizing feat would mean shredding my existence, tearing every piece of livable being out of me and turning me into a hollow shell. But I saw no other way.
My breathing picked up pace, amped, making the dizziness spin my world out of control. I was losing it. It got so bad I could no longer breathe. I gasped and wrenched my body, reaching for the sun— grasping, grabbing, trying to save my life. But the air was gone. Nothing to sustain me.
Tate knelt beside me and clutched my shoulders to keep me sitting upright. “You going to be okay, Ladybug? I knew it was going to be hard, but I didn’t think it would be this difficult for you.”
Finally, my voice spewed the bitter, vile words out like a hot rush of lava. The knife had already sliced its way through and gutted me, my heart pierced to the end of the blade, long before they spilled forth. I was too debilitated to even clear my throat. I gurgled out. “I’m letting you go, Tate.” The repugnant, volcanic ashes floated to the ground in a hushed whisper, singeing the ground as they lit.
Tate tipped his head, his mouth falling open. His eyes wouldn’t move, they drilled into me. “What are you saying?”
The tears… I couldn’t stop them. They surged forth like a rapid river, spilling down my face. “I’m so in love with you and… and I know that this time… this time I’ll never be able to forget you. And I know what that means. It means that in six weeks you’ll be going away. But I can’t fight it anymore. My love for you is too strong, and I’m too tired.” Now that I said the words I knew there was no going back for Tate. He would be gone.
Tate lowered his head, his lips pressed into a thin line. He swallowed twice, a small sound escaping from the back of his throat like something wanted to burst forth but couldn’t quite get the job done, caught somewhere between hurt and anger. He sat back on his heels, looking at his hands that trembled on his thighs, then finally whispered. “Do what you have to do. For as much as it hurts both of us, I think it’s for the best. You’ll find someone besides Aaron and move on, and we’ll be together in eternity.”

EXCERPT:
“What did she take?”
Violet clenched her teeth. “I don’t know. That’s why we were leaving.”
“Does she need a hospital?”
“She needs a bed and water,” Nicole interjected.
“You need stitches,” he said, glancing down at Nicole’s arm. “You’re bleeding all over my couch.”
Nicole just glared.
Violet held back her grin, knowing it wasn’t the time.
“We’re really sorry,” Violet said, hoping to appease to the guy so he would let them go without any more trouble. “We just wanted a good time—this club is supposed to be the hottest thing on Coney right now, and someone must have spiked our friend’s drink. We don’t want problems. We really don’t want the cops involved, so if that’s what you’re worried about, don’t be.”
The man’s lips drew into a thin, grim line as he looked the girls over. “I will make sure you all get home safe and sound.”
Violet didn’t like that idea at all. She could still hear her father in the back of her head, repeating his warnings. Keep out of Coney Island, don’t go too deep into Brooklyn, and stay the hell away from Russians.
It was more likely that whoever this guy was didn’t have anything to do with the kinds of Russians her father demanded she stay away from, but Violet knew where the lines were drawn with Alberto Gallucci. She often tested them, occasionally even jumping over them when her father wasn’t looking.
Russians were not one of them.
“We can take a cab,” Violet said. “We took one here.”
The man didn’t look all too impressed with that idea. He opened his mouth to speak, but the office door opened from behind Violet, stopping whatever he was going to say.
“Everything good, brat?
Violet turned fast on her heel at the new voice.
And froze.
He was tall—over six feet—and built like he ran a ten-K every day. The black suit he wore hugged his frame, but the jacket was left unbuttoned, showcasing a white silk dress shirt that was pulled taut across his chest.
The man was cut.
Violet swallowed hard and met the man’s stare.
Gray eyes, like the other man’s but more intense, looked her up and down with a slow, predatory fashion. His face was framed by a strong jaw dotted with a couple days’ worth of scruff and sharp cheekbones. His lips, full enough to draw in her attention, curled up at the edges into a grin of sorts.
She thought it looked more like a smirk.
He raised a hand and ran it through his short, dark hair that was tapered at the sides but a little longer down the middle.
But it wasn’t so much the action that caught her attention, but the black ink marked on his hand. An upturned spider that looked to be crawling up under the sleeve of his suit jacket rested upon a web.
Her gaze cut back to his when he dropped his hand back to his side.
He looked familiar. She was sure that she should know him, but in her semi-drunken state, she was coming up with nothing.
The man’s smirk quickly faded into a mask of cool, calm nothingness. He looked past her to the man behind her and said one word that chilled her entirely.
“Gallucci.”

Ali Parker talks about being an indie author andloving it!
I think from a young age I’ve always been independent, always looking for a way toforge a new path and climb a steep hill and do it mainly on my own. I think like mostIndies, I started by trying the traditional route and after loads of rejection, it was justeasier to forget it. A few friends of mine are making it big in the indie world and havereluctantly pulled me into it as well. I will tell you that it’s the best decision I’ve evermade.
I’m not a superstar, but a story teller – which is all I ever wanted to be. I set myschedule, write what I want, love on you guys by giving away whatever the hell I wantto and life FEELS right/good.
Let me tell you why else I love being Indie.
1. No one will ever love my book as much as me. It’s my creation and having thefreedom to choose what it looks like and where the plot goes is all mine to decide. Idon’t have someone standing over my shoulder making it “better” by their definition of“better.”
2. I can spend as little or as much time, energy and money as I want. Obviously themore I put into it, the more I’m going to get out of it, but that’s with anything in life. Thecool part is that if I’m a good editor or if I can design my own cover, then those arecosts to be saved and skills to be used.
3. I belong. In a world of independent authors I find myself fitting in just perfectly. We all work hard and dream big and the encouragement is beyond belief. I don’t haveto write a certain genre or stick to a certain structure in the plot. I simply write, promoteand support and honestly feel great about myself at the end of the day.
Being an Indie author, to me, doesn’t really have anything to do with beingIndependent though. It’s a statement that says I’m capable of making every step alongthis book writing/producing platform to take a dream from start to finish. The truth ofwhat Indie authors are doing is showing the world that there still exists hope. Hope todream big and work hard to make that dream a reality.
That’s why I love being Indie!

EXCERPT:
Bravo was there. He heard Danny scream, tasted the sharpjolt of terror heavy in the air. He came straight for him, sailing like a dark bullet throughthe night. The coyote did not see him coming. Bravo hit him like an arrow, rage pulsingthrough his body.
How dare this wolf-thing harm Danny! The fury was a tangible thing, floodingthrough his veins like a wildfire. He bit the coyote below the mouth, in the soft flesh ofthe neck, where the lifeblood was.
Take away lifeblood, take away life. That was the law of the fight. Bravo hadlearned that in the Arena, but it was an unspoken and silently understood fact ofinstinct. Blood contained life...remove blood, and the enemy would fall.
The coyote yelped and released its hold on Danny. The little boy stumbledbackward, crying, while Bravo drug the dog-thing to the ground, holding it there, second by second, as the life drained from it and the hot, salty blood spilled onto hisface and stained his fur.
Bravo felt nothing but the storming satisfaction of the bite and the devotion to thekill – the mission. This was his job, to protect Danny at all costs, because Nathan wasnot here, and because that is what Bravo was: a protector.
